This book should be called Tales of A 19th Century Russian F*ckboi. It's nearly as relevant today as then. It may be just because I'm currently watching Our Flag Means Death,  but I could totally see Taika Waititi adapting this. This sort of thing also brings to mind Yorgos Lanthimos.

There are two types of people: the ones who dislike Pechorin and all his thoughts and actions, thinking he's cruel and egoistic; and the ones who are in urgent need of therapy & do relate to him. I'm the second type. Read the warnings if you must and give it a chance. Remember it is a depiction of a time, and a hero of this time. He is a superfluous man. This is his downfall story.

Also hewwo to all my attachment style issues homies. How r y'all doin'? :))
