“The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.”

Pretty creepy and weird but neat characters and interesting premise.

This is a fantastic novel. Wilde's writing is always compelling and this story deserves the recognition it receives. Gray's character construction is extraordinary and the book is difficult to put down. I enjoyed it immensely and it is one of my favourite classics to recommend to people who might not typically go for older novels.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a very interesting look into the soul of a person corrupted.

Es ist sehr schön geschrieben, aber es war halt erst ab über der Hälfte auch nur ansatzweise spannend.

I read this book again in 2011 and it did not disappoint. Sparkling language, sparkling wit, great gothic theme. Wilde truly is a master.

Read "The Uncensored Picture of Dorian Gray", to compare the two versions.
