This novel in verse was a quick read. I highly recommend this book for high school students as it's a good reminder of the consequences of inaction. The protagonist is a thirteen-year-old girl who moves countries with her mother in search of her father. It deals with bullying, abandonment, loneliness and belonging.

This is an objectively good book, but it is not the kind of book you should read when you need a pick-me-up. I had a lot of flashbacks to Junior High and High School while reading this book, and not in a good way.
