this is exactly the kind of poetry i love most. gorgeous, tender, sensory, intimate, kind. definitely a new favorite, if not the favorite. akwaeke emezi is the artist i turn to to remember to be playful and tender, to experiment to tell stories in different forms- as a person and someone who likes to write, akwaeke is ever the example.
