A surprisingly easy read about issues of classism that remain true to this day, highlighting how a rich man would be more likely to believe the future to be a human utopia so of course he'd come to the future unprepared for the dangers.
The Morlocks were written as convincingly terrifying and I understand why the Morlocks persist in pop culture when classism remains prevalent.
Graphic: Violence, Cannibalism, and Fire/Fire injury
Moderate: Confinement, Death, and Classism
Minor: Ableism, Racial slurs, and Racism

Some interesting exploration of humanity and social commentary but. The time traveller is just. So utterly unlikeable. So self-centred, inconsiderate, arrogant and small-minded.
I recognise that’s in no small part a consequence of the time. But it just constantly distracted me from the story and it’s commentary.
Beyond seeking context for cultural references (Eloi and Morlock), I wouldn’t bother tbh.
Moderate: Cannibalism
Minor: Death, Fire/Fire injury, and War
