The writing was simple and the books pace swung from way too fast to way too slow, but the narrator was compelling throughout. And the end leaves me questioning everything i had read since the start.

Wowwww what an ending!!

This book was so easy to read. I found myself not wanting to put it down, always trying to figure out Mary’s story and the case against her. And I didn’t get much right, let me tell you!

So I absolutely loved this book until the twist at end. I was really rooting for her and felt so bad for everything that was happening to her. So I liked most of the book!

As usual Jackson creates a dark disturbing and ultimately tragic storyline. Mary Beth has been released from “baby jail” to a half way house for teens after being convicted of “allegedly” murdering an infant. With a frightful back story, dangerous roommates, and a mother no child deserves, Jackson builds a tragic tale around the death of Alyssa and life of Mary.
I often struggle with the unreliable narrator, but I devoured this book desperate to know the full story, gasping with every reveal.
