Another reread, still love these stories. An excellent ending to the trilogy.

As with the first two novels of this series, [a:Maggie Stiefvater|1330292|Maggie Stiefvater|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1268241579p2/1330292.jpg]'s lyrical prose captivated me. I loved this book almost as much as I did the first two. That said, I only gave it four stars as it fell short as the final in a series. Too much was left hanging and unresolved for it to satisfy. Had this been the third of more, I would have given it five.

Better. I still don't like colored ink. I do really enjoy her characters. A lot. Her writing style is...so very detailed that it sometimes annoys me. But the end was well done, and while it left some things open, it closed everything enough.

First of all, I actually loved both Cole and Isabel in this book! They were both coming to terms with who they are, and what they can do with their lives, as well as being so totally honest!
Sam, Grace and the wolves found some unlikely allies when Tom Culpepper got the go-ahead to use a helocopter to chase the wolves, and the fact that a cop helped them with new woods in a secluded area, that actually belonged to him made it even better.
I loved that Sam was able to talk to Beck once more, after Cole injected him with his adrenalin-whatnot to make him human for a little while.
Grace's parents were still total asshats in this book, but she finally actually got to tell them how wrong they were, and that she really was an adult, even if she wasn't 18 yet. I am with Grace and Rachel, though, I can't believe Amy replaced Grace with a kitten! o.O that was just not right at all! Poor Grace. Good thing she had Sam in her life.
I think the most beautiful scenes in the whole series were when Sam and Grace were wolves together, and they ran with the pack towards salvation. They recognized each other, and their love was still strong, even Cole recognized that they behaved the same way towards each other as thed did when they were human.
Beautiful story, and the way it ended will probably lead to a lot of excellent fanfics :D

I thought that overall the book gave a good wrap up to the story and expanded on some of the mysteries that started in the first two, but that at points it dragged a little or could have been told a little more concisely. I am happy with the way that it ended though!

I am not really sure I liked the way the series ended.
