This book was a brilliant ending to the story of Eadlyn's selection. While I enjoy the original Selection trilogy more, these books are special in their own way. I loved seeing the character development in these books and the ending was so wonderful (yet slightly unexpected).
This was a wonderful conclusion to an even more wonderful series!

I really liked the first three books in the series but I didn't really care for the last two that much. They were fine but I wasn't buying anything that was happening. The storyline seemed very forced and who she ends up with makes no sense either honestly. But I obviously didnt have that much of an issue since I read the whole series in a long weekend.

Somehow, SOMEHOW, this managed to be worse than the books before it. I honestly had hope for Eadlyn's character after the heir, but she is her mother's daughter, and is also prone to the horrible and drastic decision making as America. Needless to say, this is not necessarily her fault. Kiera Cass, at least to me, has proven to be quite awful at 1.) developing a plot, 2.) writing likeable protagonists, 3.) writing good (even decent, really) dialogue, and 4.) writing romance with any sort of reality, attraction, or any interest on the part of the reader. At least we knew from book one that America would end up with Maxon, but this book just...really? How does Eadlyn go from barely noticing someone, to making them a semi-present character in the next book, to 3/4 of the way through declaring herself in love? The amount of times she used the word soulmate made me gag. But in the end, it isn't summer without reading an installment of this remarkably subpar series.

Bien.

Reading this book, there was not much romance. It was mainly due to Eadlyn's character but still. I felt none of the selected boys were truly right for her- I had no one to root for. This book did surprise me from time to time- but I much rather preferred Maxon's and America's story. It was worth to finish the series- but I would have been more content if the Selection series stopped after book 3, the One.
