After everything we learn about Damon in the previous books, I was so ready for him to have his own story, redemption, love. I had no idea how Penelope would do it but she knocked this one out of the park. Damon and Winter are now one of my favorite couples ever.
Everything that Damon went through growing up, all the terrible things he’d done, to get to see how he felt about Winter the whole time and how she was always a place of peace for him.
Ugh. Even aside from them, the action and the story just keeps getting better with every book, I don’t know how she does it.

My ONLY gripe is I hate that at the end Winter’s dog Mikhail is never mentioned again in the wrap up/epilogue 🤣

Buckle up, buttercup, because this one’s got a SH*T TON of baggage to unpack. Definitely look at the content warnings before reading. It’s definitely the most emotional book of the series so far. I didn’t think we’d get quite the close up on Damon’s past as we did, but it definitely explains why he is the way he is. Having Winter be blind was a choice. I got annoyed pretty quickly at the amount of times her not being able to see was used as a terror tactic. And I was really curious how the two of them were going to have a happy ending, all things considered. Overall, I liked it more than the second book, but not quite as much as the first.

Another great book in the series. I found this way more dark and graphic. This follows Damon and Winter. Damon has been through so much and I was so angry with the graphic scenes we got and how he was treated by the people who are ment to love and care for him. He is a tough MC but broken. Winter is innocent and was shocked when I found out the condition she had. I really wasn’t expecting it at all.
I loved when Damon opened up to Winter and let her in. Damon protecting her from a young age and caring for her I enjoyed the jump back in time to see them moments.
