Romance. Espionage. Magic and thrill. What more could you want in this next installment of the Bloodlines series? Exciting and enjoyable from start to finish!

There is only one word to summarize this. SYDRIAN. Meaning that they (mainly Sydney) has come to see that she loves Adrian, and wants to be with him, being the vampire he is. She's rebelling against her kind- the alchemist because they've lied to her multiple times. I got a tad frustrated at Sydney when her and Adrian would kiss and yet she would deny her feelings, I understand why, if they were caught then he would be dragged to re-education for sure.

Then, her sister, Zoe, came and I kind of got mad. With Zoe around, how will SYDRIAN be together and have romantic moments and bicker and talk and be SYDRIAN!

What I also loved was that Sydney and Adrian are the parents of a magical creature, a Callistana (aka: a demon creature) which I picture to be really cute. They name him Hopper, best rabbit ever!!

If you don't ship Sydrian, I'm judging you…

With that being said, I'm going to start The Fiery Heart tomorrow!

The Indigo Spell was a major improvement from The Golden Lily. With the help of being a naturally fast reader, I was able to fly through this book. I feel like this book really starts to shape the characters and you can see how much stronger and independent Sydney has become since the first book. Not just with her not following all the rules, but just of her becoming more in control of her own mind and body, and I love seeing that improvement. And I adore the relationship between her and Adrian, and the way that he is with her. It's so good to see a semi healthy YA relationship where the male isn't trying to dominate and control the female. Hats off to you for that one, Richelle!

Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true. I had moaned about how slow and boring The Golden Lily was and warned in my review that I wasn't sure how much more patience I had for Richelle Mead. That was last night and I've just spent the whole day reading Indigo Spell, riveted and simply unable to put it down. A very easy 5 stars from me.
