I enjoyed this book! I liked hero and heroine. Definitely worth a read. The plot was a bit simple I suppose- perhaps lacked a little complexity. But it was a really enjoyable read and I recommend it.

I loved it! This book is really well-written and all the characters are quite interesting. I especially loved Bram, and Sophie's cousin Aideen. They both kept me entertained. All other characters are also well-developed. All in all it is a great read, packed with romance, heartache, mystery, adventure, and everything in-between. I'd definitely recommend it to readers who enjoy a good historical fiction.
Sophie overhears her then fiancé having an affair with some French woman. After that she runs away to hide in the country, because as far as she is concerned her life is over. Although, it is hard for her to reconcile to the fact that she almost married someone who didn't even respect her, but now she is back in London. And looking for a husband once again. No matter what, after all she must marry as that's the way of life.
Bram can't believe how Sophie misinterpreted his actions and now isn't giving him even a chance to explain everything. Not that he is at any liberty to reveal the whole truth. But at least he can tell her how much he loves her. He has waited for so long, never giving up on her. Now that she is back in London he plans to chase her and have her no matter what, because only she will be his wife and he will make it happen...
However, that is not all. The trouble is that his job is a dangerous one and even though he has decided to leave it behind for Sophie, but the question is will it leave him alone? Or will his past catch up to him and harm Sophie in the process? That's one thing he will not be able to withstand.
The book is amazing, it made me laugh-out-loud on more than a few occasions. At times it was just so sad and heartbreaking, at other quite heartwarming. I absolutely loved it and would be looking forward to reading more from the same author.

I enjoyed it, but i didnt love it. Cant put my finger on what it was missing. I liked Sophie, she was a spitfire (as was Aideen). Good read.
I will likely pick up book two. Nothing i love more than a brooding man who doesn't think himself worthy and/or capable of love and Aideen would be fun to read.

This was a cute, sweet, enjoyable novel. Not a lot of drama for a novel with a hero that works as a spy but still very fun.
My favorite character within this novel was Bram. I loved Bram. He was an extremely (sometimes overly) romantic hero and honestly it was something I hadn't read in a while. I wasn't waiting for the hero to realize he was desperately in love...he was at that stage from the beginning. He had to grovel a bit in order to win back Sophie's heart and it was pretty impressive. His words came from a place of great honesty and devotion. His heart belonged only to Sophie and he did everything he could possibly think of to let her know.
What I didn't expect but absolutely adored was the "bromance" with the fellow agents. Jack, Alex and Bram were the perfect trio of clueless (in the language of romance) yet sophisticated gentlemen. The way they teased each other had me laughing and smiling throughout the story. Jack and Alex got Bram into a few spots of trouble and you could clearly see all their mischief and mayhem came from their strong fellowship with each other. I am very eager to see those two receive their happy endings. Especially Alex with Sophie's fiery cousin.
Overall, this was a great novel to help you escape on a lazy afternoon. It was light on the drama with an extremely sweet romance and I enjoyed every page. This cast of characters will delight you and make you laugh....what more could you ask for?

Things I loved: The friendships – between Sophie and Aideen and among all the male characters; the cameos by famous folks; the word play; the chapter titles (don’t see that very often in HR); Aideen’s curses.
I was a little distracted from the main story by what was happening between Aideen and the Duke, but that guaranteed I will read their book. Overall, it was a fun start to the series.
