People weren't lying when they said things pick up once you get to the 3rd book. This was definitely better than the first two. There were more things happening plot-wise, there was more at stake, and alot more development and closeness of the characters' relationships.

I adored Loren's development from overcoming his addiciton as well as seeing his struggle to maintain his sobriety as well. And I love love love how he ADORES Lily and ultimately just wants the best for her. He was actually being the boyfriend that Lily deserves.

I also admire that we really got to see Lily struggle to get better. I've been rooting for her and felt sympathy for her since book 1. I can't wait to see her get better!

Again! Loved Rose and Conner (not that big of a fan of them individually, but they just work as a couple). I can't wait to read their book.

I really felt the friendship between the characters in this book and am gradually seeing the formation of "the core six". I also enjoyed them diving into their parental relationships as well. I can't wait to connect with the characters as much as everyone else does.

One thing that did aggravate me and something that I will never get over is Ryke and Daisy. They know how inappropriate their relationship is and yet the authors are gonna pursue them anyways. I just can't get behind it.

4,25 because this one really stressed me out but I LOVE THE DRAMA and the love. It was great to see more of Rose and Connor and also I think I’d like Lo better now if he was a real person and I happened to meet him. Daisy still kind of annoys me and I don’t like that I like when her and Ryke flirt (can’t wait for their book tho)

This book is my second favorite in the series so far. It focused more on how Loren and Lily had to help each other so they could each overcome their addictions. In Lo's case, he had to adjust to his not drinking, while Lily had to overcome her own addiction. There was also a sub-plot that I enjoyed, even if it was horrible for the characters. This book focused more on Lo's relationships with his family. And I quite enjoyed it. It showed the complex and toxic relationship he has with his dad, as well as the relationship he's building with Ryke. But this book was quite hard to read at times. It was, dare I say, darker than the others. It deals with sexual assault, blackmailing, substance abuse, child abuse, neglect, abandonment. It was dark. But so, so good.
