At this point it’s moved well beyond the main story, into ever-expansive worldbuilding. Which, honestly, I just don’t find that interesting.

we have arrived for the festival!
We've knowns for a while that the relationship between witches and humans was strained and the meeting with all the kings showcases more of that. Deanreidea (Dean) seems to be the new player on the board to look out for.
And the Costas shows up again - but he is different from before.

We learn some more details about the festival itself and the city (like how the Ezrest's castle is magic-free), and we see all three Wisdoms together.
I absolutely adore the storyline with Costas. His rage about them not healing him and hiding their reasons is still burning hot and with his new alliance with Ininia, his wooden stilts are even more powerful than their winged cloak. Coco and Tatha are rightfully afraid yet also understand where he is coming from - Coco is herself still struggling with magic rules. I have no idea why Ininia gave them each bracelets (to force them to help them? "act as friends"?)

I also still appreciate how the story takes care to give sexual assault and the crimes associated with that the importance they deserve.
