I read Ranger and loved it so I figured that I would give Archer a try, but I definitely preferred the last book of the series rather than the first. How could I not when this is inspired by Hochner from Criminal Minds? Personally, I didn't see a lot of the same characterization that I would have expected from that character, which was a bit disappointing, but it was close enough that I was able to through till the end.
I thought the plot was utterly predictable. The main character was decently relatable and a strong woman, but I couldn't get past all the growling and "baby"s, it's just not my thing. The sex scenes were decent, I love a man with a good mouth. But for the love of god, never tattoo somebody while you're fucking them, that is a recipe for disaster in so many ways.

Some of the language in spicy scenes was a bit bizarre. First book I've read that womb was used in that manner....
It had a nice flow and the character development of Kiera was good.
The 1st ½ of the book droned on and I found myself skipping passages with self-loathing and just non interesting info.
It took me longer to read than most books that are less than 300 pages.
