I enjoyed this much more than anticipated. It was whimsical and cheeky. Could not stop listening to the audiobook narrator!

I didn’t like the pacing of the book, overall plot was shallow, I honestly wish Dora was more interesting but she ended up being very monotoned and Elias is quite boring.

Charming and unexpected, Half a Soul was a delightful departure from my usual fare. Caught from the opening sentence, I felt compelled to sink into this story in a way I don’t find too often at this stage in my life. The imagery and emotion are thick and tangible but the lines are smooth as silk. This story spins charm and escapism so beautifully that I couldn’t help find myself enchanted with Dora’s adventures.

This book was such a poignant reminder of the real world. I couldn't stop myself from drawing parallels between the world that is currently watching a genocide unfold in the comfort of their home helplessly and this fictional faerie London that hosts lavish balls unbothered and unconcerned about the blood being sacrificed to put food on their table.

crazy.

but on a more unserious note, I adored dora. she's precious. lord sorcier is the just right amount of loveable asshole
