I was intrigued by the world at first, but I found the story boring and character motivations unbelievable. Glad it’s a one-off novella… I don’t see coming back for these characters.

It is a fantasy western murder mystery. This book starts with a murder and doesn't really slow down from there. Celeste is one of the most interesting characters that I have seen in a while and she is unique in how terrible she is. She doesn't really change much throughout the book, rather she just becomes more honest with herself on who she is. She is an interesting character that thinks she is better than everyone else and looks down on them while making the same choices that they would. The mystery is punchy but not the best but watching Celeste was enjoyable, if watching someone make bad choices this often can be considered enjoyable.

My rating system
1 - Did not enjoy
2 - Not irredeemable but has too many flaws to say I enjoyed
3 - Enjoyed it
4 - Great book but didn't love it
5 - Amazing book
