What a sweet story! I need relaxing and heartwarming story to make me relax and this was perfect
A lovely setting, relatable and realistic characters, a plot that flows and make you smile.
I rooted for the characters, smiled and wished I was at the Inn.
Good character and plot development, a sweet romance.
Highly recommended.

What a wonderful debut novel by Jeannie Chin. The Inn on Sweetbriar Lane was a great romance that provided the smalltown charm of supportive friends and family with a special opposites-attract love story between June and Clay.

Clay’s grumpy demeanour makes you love him even more and when he figures out he wants more than something just casual with the attractive June despite her meddling ways on how he should design his bar that’s located across from June’s family’s inn was adorable. He was the perfect cinnamon roll with added depth at the fact he was an army vet and had lost people very close to him.

Also, I just loved the moment that June’s family pulls together at the end to make a sweet and happy ending.

Additionally, Katy Tang and Zachary Webber did a great job at the narration. I can officially say that I’m a big fan of Zachary’s as I’ve enjoyed every book he has done voice work for.

I’m kind of torn on this one. I liked the small-town feel of the story and you’ll always catch me falling for the grumpy hero. However, at times, Clay came across more as vindictive and callous, not just misunderstood. June was likeable but the secrets and self-inflicted singular responsibilities she was dealing with seemed like too much and too often.
Overall, I enjoyed the story. I just didn’t LOVE it.

June wants to revitalize her town to save her inn. Clay moves to town and plans to open a bar on Main Street in honor of his best friend from the army. Their visions clash. They argue a lot with heat that spells chemistry. This is a great opposites attract romance in a great small town.

One of the reasons that June's family inn is struggling is that her mom was hit with many medical bills after having a stroke. The description of the medical debt and unending additional bills struck such a nerve with me. I related to June so strongly, and I cried.

This book was much deeper than I expected. It has themes of grief and pain, of struggles and stress. Both June and Clay had mental health struggles, and I would have liked to see those addressed more explicitly with therapy. But the book also had a beautiful romance between two characters I liked and respected. I found myself rooting for both throughout.

This is a super cute small town with some southern twists in NC. We get busybodies getting their noses in things, June is running her families inn, the highway moved so less tourist, upcoming festive, Clay is back from Afghanistan and going to open a bar in honor of this friend - Bug, we also have family drama, Clay and June trying to figure out life and how they fit into each other lives. We also get some steamy but close door-is.

Overall, I can't wait for more of this series!!

This was sweet small town romance. Definitely will continue with the series. Deducted a star for the miscommunication/lack of communication with the characters, which I really don’t like but it was quick and resolved pretty easily.

I loved this book!


June runs her families inn & Clay just moved to Blue Ceder Falls to fulfill his late best friends dream of opening a bar.

It’s enemies to lovers but they are not enemies for long. 

I loved reading about June’s family. Her mom and cat Sunny were ADORABLE. I’ll be honest Sunny was a highlight!! 

If you’re looking for something with Gilmore Girls and Virgin River vibes that is more diverse—This book is perfect!!!
