3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good historical romance with a some adventure, humor, and real emotions. Loved the relationship growth between the FMC and Carver’s family. And the ending with her at the orphanage was so well done. I’m glad it didn’t end with a traditional royal wedding or something cliche

This book was a sweet read. Although I wish there was an epilogue of sorts to find out “what happens later”, I was beyond satisfied with the developments of the story. It was sweet and simple read and I loved the healing that takes place for the characters. I fell in love with all the characters and can’t wait to read the second book so I can be a part of the family again. I am a sucker for this time period and the sweet gestures that take place within the manners and etiquette of the people. In my opinion, worth the read. I love this author and the way she writes romance.

What an enjoyable book!! I listened on audio and this was one of those books that grabbed me from the very beginning and didn't let go.

Rose was orphaned as a young girl and became a con woman, tricking men out of their money. Carver was one of her unsuspecting victims, but he had other plans.

I don't know anything about the faith of this author, but my guess is she is a Christian because of how gospel-centered this book is, receiving love when we expect and deserve condemnation. It's a beautiful and sometimes teary story (but quite happy overall).

Highly recommended!
