Frankenstein is of course a classic.  It's a winding book about Victor Frankenstein's mistake: playing god and creating life from death.  Frankenstein isn't a good person and he's kind of whiny about it.  His "monster" is contemplative and vengeful.  He gives Frankenstein the chance to avoid his vengeance by creating a wife for him and when he doesn't, he
kills
everyone he cares about.  I hate Victor Frankenstein.  His monster is more interesting.

I have wanted to read this book for so so long, and I was happy to read it. But it was not my cup of tea sadly. I was confused and didn’t follow that well. It’s been allot going on so I had to read the book in two days which was bad and stressful.

When I picked up this copy of Frankenstein at a thrift shop, I didn’t realize it was an annotated version. I mostly focused on the original story but was pleased to have contexts, other works, and explanations throughout.

The story of Frankenstein was not what I expected (popular culture has truly butchered it) and it was truly hard to get through, but worth it.
