I absolutely adored this book. I was totally invested in Avery and Declan’s relationship and watching them grow from friends to lovers. The chemistry and struggles between the two was believable, which helped make the story so strong. The book had great pacing and flow and was the perfect balance between comedy and drama. Totally reccomend if you’re into romance! I couldn’t put the book down :)

This was a cute story of Friends to Lovers to something more. I liked the development of their relationship as they started to realise just what they could be to each other. I do think that there could have been a bit more of their past sprinkled thoughout to make the ending feel a little more powerful.
Spoiler Like when there was the scavenger hunt - it felt like it was just thought of and not planned all along by the author. She could have mentioned the CD earlier in the book, or that they had met on a scavenger hunt, etc. Just something earlier so when it was brought up near the end it felt like oh yeah! they really have been perfect for each other all along.

Avery and Declan are best friends and roommates. When Avery gets in a car accident after Declan flakes out on their agreement to drive across the state together, Declan feels immense guilt and becomes her nurse and personal assistant. Loving in such close proximity can only lead to sparks flying between the two. But should best friends get involved?

This is a quick, open door romance with a fair amount of steam.

Thank you to St Martins Press and NetGalley for a digital ARC and MacMillan audio for a multiple narrator ALC in exchange for my honest review.

When I read a friends-to-lovers trope, I've said before, I need it bacon wrapped. The bacon here was the trauma and angst and the epiphany of feelings. Delicious angsty bacon y'all.

But then tragedy! WIth a third to go, the friends-to-lovers trope gets swapped with the evil miscommunication pickle. And even wrapped in bacon, I have no love for pickles. Begging forgiveness from y'all (and y'all are the many, I know) who love pickles. So if you love pickles, sub it with the thing you don't like.

I'm checking the time, and I'm surprised its not 4am, because this review is sounding like a sleep deprived 4am stream of consciousness review. But here we are. Anyways, read it. Its good. I just don't think I'll reread it kinda good.

Helena Hunting's books are always a win for me and I thought this one was really cute. I loved Avery, London, Harley's relationship and it was nice that their sisterhood was a big part of the story. This book definitely got heavy at times but I think it was, balanced well. The friends to lovers was, done so well and I liked how Avery and Declan both took time in therapy. They built up their foundation of being friends into lovers and that, was quite nice to witness. I'm so excited to read the next two books about the other sisters, but I definitely enjoyed this first installment!

I loved this sooo much. In true fashion, I read the second book before this but that didn’t impact a thing. I love how each character has a flaw because I found them so real and human in this which I love.
