For the next six months, we had so much sex I thought his willy might fall off from overuse...

If there's anything that Gina wants.. needs.. and MUST HAVE... on the whole entire planet, it is (of course) a baby. Since all of Gina's friends have had such an easy time getting pregnant, it shouldn't be THAT hard for Gina and her husband to get pregnant, right?

WRONG.

After months and months of trying, Gina is at the end of her patience with trying to conceive a child. Thinking she's tried everything out there, Gina decides to take advice from her loopy, new age-y new friend -- who proceeds to lead Gina into a chain of phone text psychics, crystal healing sessions, and baby-making spells. Desperate to quiet her loudly ticking biological clock, Gina finds herself in hilarious situations -- like the time a police pulled her over when she was holding a chilled bottle of her husband's sperm... or the time her husband's boss walked in right in the middle of a "quickie".

Although Gina has told herself that she would not be one of those women who planned her entire life around the calendar marking her ovulation days, she soon realizes that she too has fallen into THE BABY TRAP.

Celebrate what you have. Don't grieve for what you never had. Don't sacrifice living.

Can Gina save her sanity and her marriage before she gives up on her dream of motherhood?

BABY TRAP was a cute, quick, funny, spunky read that was definitely more enjoyable than I expected. Be forewarned, though -- this is British chick lit, and is thus filled with British slang and a few phrases that were a bit unfamiliar to me. Also, I knew from about page 20 how the story would end -- but this didn't detract in any way from the funnies along the way.

I'll NEVER turn down a good chick lit, so a huge THANK YOU to the publishers who allowed me the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the novel. I'll definitely check out more from this author in the future.

I got this through First Reads, and it was as good as I thought it would be! Though I have no interest in having children now, the main character seemed very relatable to me as she struggled with her wish for a child and not wanting to seem crazy. She really wanted to have a kid and was willing to do anything to have that dream fulfilled, but at the same time she seemed like a real person, worrying if all this effort was a little much. This was a very good read!

Although this book is fiction. Its a story about infertility and a couple's journey through IVF based on the authors own life experience.

I absolutely loved this book. Although I never went through IVF it did take me over a year to conceive my first child so I could really relate to the character.

For a book that is covering such a emotive subject it was so funny. Funnier for me because I did try a couple of things that she did. It was also sad in parts and I really felt for the main character.

I would highly recommend this book. It normally takes me around one month to read a book but I read this in a few days.d

So far from where I am in my life right now, but an interesting and entertaining read nonetheless.

Anyone struggling with infertility can relate to the characters in this book. You try everything, but nothing works! It's very frustrating, but this book did a good job of using humor as well.

I would read this book when I was feeling alone. It made me feel like I had a friend who understood the struggles that come with infertility. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's going through this.

I had not realized before buying that this was not just a romance. It describes the difficult path of fertility problems and the emotions during that time.

I bought this on a whim. I had not read any reviews and did not know that it was not actually a romance. As soon as I started reading it struck a painful cord as I read about the path I myself have taken years ago. I do not recognize every emotion but the treatment and IVF is described into precision. I am so fortunate to have a beautiful child now. But I do not really like to be reminded of this difficult time.

Maybe it should be advertised more as NOT being a romance/chick lit. It is something completely different. I read that Ms Hodge herself has lived through it. That struck a cord as well.
