I thought this was an enemies to Lovers but though they seem quite the enemies in book 1, they start this one less enemies and more avoiding the attraction.

Keeping true to this series, the romance is aided by a mystery that our two lovers need to solve. I always love a romance where the two mc's need to work together, it just gives it that flow that some romances can miss.

I loved Diana. Strong, fierce and smart. A perfect Match for our devilish rogue Giles. But more than that, I love how he encouraged and admired her love of her work and how intelligent she was.

The perfect regency romance that I took on holiday and binged in a day.

I cannot wait for Venus's story, I think our wallflower might discover her bite!

I enjoyed the banter and the side characters but the story itself was hard to get through. It just could not keep my attention. The book felt really long, primarily because I had such a hard time staying invested in the story.

DNF @ 72%

I don't generally leave reviews for DNF books, but I think I was far enough into the book to form an honest opinion. I just could not get into this book. I thought it was boring and confusing and felt like it tried to be too many things at once. My mind wondered literally every single time I tried to read a chapter which usually isn't a problem for me.

3.75 stars. This was a very solid historical romance with a great mysterious undertone and I’m very curious about the next book in the series.
