I didn’t get it all. Might revisit.

An incredible book, much more like a poem than a novel. I have never read anything quite like it.

More an extended prose poem than a narrative novel. Hallucinatory, intense, and perplexing.

This was a fast read for me, mostly because of the author's choice of long-running paragraphs which fit the main character's mental troubles quite well.

Mindblowing. Slow moving at the beginning, but mounts into manic monologues that question faith, the family structure and the nature of reality. Nassar is a literary sniper.

Mesmerizing, hypnotic. Flowing prose that captures the passage of time, carnal lust, tensions at the family table, the earthiness of being.

Read this two years ago after discovering it at a used book store and bought it blindly only because the premise on the back intrigued me. I think it's a real work of genius, one of the most beautiful books I've ever read, and even today the images the book evokes haven't escaped my mind.

I do not really know what happened but I enjoyed it nonetheless and enjoyed the writing style.
There was a brief moment in the book where I got what was going on and really enjoyed it.
