Wow! This book easily gets 5 stars. I could not put it down, the story hooked me from the start.
"Once upon a time we were the best of friends. But that was before he destroyed everything. Now the two of us are little more than the debris he left behind."
Told from the perspective of two narrators and alternating time periods.
Dark deception. What is true and what is not? A mother who will do anything to protect her child? A daughter hell bent on getting revenge? Or do we have it all wrong?

Even though the plot wasn't bad I found that this book felt like it was 600 pages not 300 something.
Audiobook saved me with this one.

The plot twist is amazing. At the beginning I expected something totally different than im the end happened. I couldn‘t stop reading, it had the right pace and I was sooooo intrigued with the characters… one of my top thrillers all time!

30% in and I can’t stand the characters. It’s back and forth with the past and present to tell the story, some do it well but this one just drags. I’ve gone ahead and looked to see how it plays out and I can honestly say I’m glad I didn’t waste my time because the “twist” seems very lackluster, none of it motivates me to continue to get the full depth of it.
