dananana's review against another edition
I found the main character and his parents to be such frustrating characters to the point where I wasn't interested anymore.

Very underwhelming, and a typical children's horror book. Can't say I expected too much from it.

I don't normally read books for younger age groups but I found it to be a page-turner. The story was simple, kept me entertained, and opened my eyes to the possibility of writing for adolescents one day. 4/5.

Minor grievance but in one chapter if you're going to have the mom freak out about the kid getting abducted because he rode home with a stranger, and then in the next chapter have her say there's no reason to fear being kidnapped or abducted because they're safe - which is it supposed to be? And I get they're supposed to be under Auntie's influence but come on. It just makes the parents even more of a plot contrivance then they already were.mdpbernal's review against another edition
