I love the characters and the storyline, but the writing of "recordings" and "if you find this" mildly annoyed me, but not so badly that I would decrease it's rating

I didn't like this book when I was thirteen and unfortunately I don't like it now either. It was very slow and I didn't feel like I connected with any of the characters much. The stakes and relationships are definitely interesting, but nothing really kept me invested.

It was a little bit difficult to read, so it took me literal months to finish, but I've also been in a reading slump for more than a year, so you probably shouldn't listen to my opinion on how long it takes to read it (lol). Anyway, it was a really good book despite it taking a long time to read.

I might even like this book better than Percy Jackson! I liked how the author developed the relationship between brother-sister and the complex nature of the gods. The plot and action sequences felt more mature than some of Riordan’s other books. Very enjoyable to read!

For readers of Percy Jackson who are looking for more content here you go. Same universe, new pantheon, old dangers.

Sadie and Carter’s story is very different from Percy’s and in pretty much every way that is a strength. These two have to navigate a dangerous mythological world in a race against other mortals and gods who attempt to stop them. A fun and engaging read, would recommend.
