For anyone who is interested in learning more about the poet, Anne Spencer, this book offers a glimpse into her creative life and the garden she tended daily amd loved so much. Anne drew inspiration, refreshment, and wisdom from her garden, as reflected in her lyrical, often cryptic, verse. This book also contains information about the restoration of her garden eight years after her death, and the text overall is enhanced throughout not only with photos of Anne, her garden, and those dear to her, but also with lines from the poems themselves. Included also are the full poems that are referenced in the text. A beautiful study and compilation of one of our most interesting local literary figures.
