In giving this 3 stars I realise that I've gotten very generous with my ratings, perhaps too generous.

Essentially I liked some of the ideas here (& in this series in general), the evil witch finding her "humanity", debates about good people doing bad things to survive, redemption, revenge, friendship love. However, there's a lot of snooze-worthy filler & dull characters who no matter how hard they try, I just can't give a fuck about (looking at you Chaol) who've grown from moderately douchey to full on shitheads (She's a monster is she Chaol!?!

On edge for a majority of this book. I’m also realizing that there is so much more of this series. I’m not prepared for the damage. I’ve already experienced so much. WHAT IS TO COME?!

Wow. Talk about things taking off. More characters & they’re fab.
The series has just won me more at every book.
Ready to start the next one already.

One line review - Closing the chapter on being an assassin

Love this book and the final transition of Celaena to Aelin. Love how everything starts coming together and yet, there are so many links back to the past. I love how it all links and nothing is forgotten or ignored. It all has its place and its done fabulously.

You make me want to live, not survive, not exist.
Live.

hahahaa damn! 😃

Edit: Now that I think about it, how come that Arobynn Hamel died so easily. I mean, I began this book expecting some hell of a fight before this man went down. He just died so easily and I don't know. It's just not what I expected when I first read all that phenomenal description of the one in a life time, undefeatable and cunning King of Assassins. Seriously!!!
