I have mixed feelings about Lane and Tristan's story. On the one hand, I did find the mystery of what happened to Lane's brother captivating, and after I warmed up to it I enjoyed his and Tristan's steamy romance. I thought their quiet nights together were really sweet, and I was invested in finding out if they could make a relationship work when they had to be so careful in public. But I also struggled with the writing style multiple times throughout this story and did not like the ending. It's not that I was expecting things to magically turn out perfectly, but the reveal and abrupt epilogue left me feeling very off-balance and uncomfortable. Any happiness I might have had about Tristan and Lane's relationship was tainted by the way the plotline wrapped up, and ultimately I just wasn't satisfied.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

I really enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Lane and Tristan is strong from the beginning, even though it's just physical to begin with before it moves to more. Really enjoyed the characters and the storyline.

Lane Mathew’s older brother goes MIA after he is stationed in Jeddah. Wanting answers, Lane applies for deployment in the same area to get answers himself. On his first day he meets one of his housemates, Tristan, who is enlisted. What starts as a bumpy friendship turns into so much more. Lane takes every opportunity to find out what happened to his brother. He also falls for Tristan.

This book ended in a twist I did not expect, making it such a good book. It gives you some leads, so you form an opinion and then boom right out of left field. I liked this book, and I did like Lane. Lane and Tristan together was even better. This book did make me cry a bit.

I wish this would have been a series so I could see more of Lane and Tristan. It could have been. 5 star read; however, after you find out what happened to Lane's brother, it ends very fast, and it’s kind of disappointing how fast. A nice quick read.
