I think Pamela Cox did a great job with continuing the malory towers series! Usually it feels odd to keep reading a series, where the author has a completely different writing style to the original. Although Pamela does have her own writing style, you can still see elements of Enid's writing style coming thru jn the writing and the way Pamela sometimes tried to recreate it.
If you like reading about drama, this book is full of it!!
I love most of characters, though they seem like copies of the girls in the other books... for exmaple, Felicity is like Darrell, June is like Alicia, Amy is similar to Gwen... etc. I kind of wish the characters were completely different. If I would have changed the characters out in this book for the original malory towers girls, the story would still work.
Also, some of the dialogue is a little odd. It's like Felicity is trying to give her parents an inspirational speech when they're just having a normal conversation
Here's my opinion (that no one asked for) on all the characters:
Felicity: Kinda like Darrell without the temper, generally a nice character though
Susan: Felicity's bestie, almost exactly like Felicity
Pam: very nice character, I wish she'd been in the spotlight more
Nora: The same as pam
Julie: Sam as Pam and Nora, also she's so obssesd with her horse LOL I hope to see more of her in the next book
June: SO annoying- I like how she's honest about stuff, but what she did to Freddie was so horrible like wtf
she literally made Amy's grandmother, who hasn't even met Amy before, believe that Freddie was Amy, just because Freddie pulled a prank on Mamzelle that June wanted to play first?? Very weird if you ask me..
Freddie: Angel
Amy: SO coquette coded, idek why but I absolutely love her
Veronica: Didn't like her at all at first, she got better but I still dislike her
Bonnie: I hate her bro
Overall, it's an alright book. It's basically just some drama and a lot of cool characters. It's not a must-read, but if you like malory towers then you will enjoy this book.
