I don't even know what to say about this.
It's really, deeply unsettling how relatable to real life this was. I couldn't help but compare the events happening in the book to real life events I've personally seen happen.
Honestly, the whole book just felt like a slap in the face.

Read when I was 15. Had been recommended by Success in High School. My notes: This delightful story satirizes dictatorships. The revolt of the animals against the tyranny of Farmer Jones and their establishment of a new regime, which ends up being worse.

Animal Farm was incredibly strange. It took the innocence of animals and their uncanny ability to forgive and love unconditionally, and it turned it into something dry and professional with underlying political tendencies. Some call it a classic, I call it dry.

I read this in high school and watched the film. I had planned on rereading it, but I still remember the concepts and themes of this book, so I suppose that's unnecessary.
