I spent almost a week or so reading this book; it took me longer than expected. The reason is that it's very slow paced and not really in a thrilling or exciting way. I pushed myself through it and kinda expected the end. I was really disappointed because the twists aren't really that good or unexpected. Worst book of this year so far.

I am not sure how I feel about this book. I know toward the end I was mad and frustrated and had to step back for a day or so but I am not overwhelmed with how it ended... I guess was a decent read and I wanted to finish even though I was frustrated with the book and the characters. The is one huge aspect of the ending I really hated but as to not give spoilers I wont say what it was, or who he is...

Meh, for me. Much better than their first novel, which had so many twists and turns, it was exhaustive. It seems like these authors went from one extreme to another. Fairly sure this will be the last book I read from them for a while.

This book took me 19 days to finish.... 19 y’all.... Story was okay but predictable. I listened to the audiobook and wonder if I would have enjoyed the story more if I had actually read it. The doctor’s voice in the audio is so monotonous that it became almost unbearable. I struggled to even finish for that reason.

Also, the ending was random to me and did not seem like something the character would do. Felt like a last minute twist to throw in for the sake of it.

3.5 ⭐️ i really enjoyed the last third of this book, but the build up was painfully slow, which almost made me shelve it. Once I hit the 200 page mark, things picked up and I was finally invested in the ending.

The writing was great, and it was a very intriguing story, but then the plot sort of fizzled out for me at the end.

I give the book 4 stars. The only reason is because the chapters go back and forth between two characters. That is a challenge for me as a reader. I find any book that shifts between characters hard to read, but otherwise the book was fantastic!

An Anonymous Girl is about how Jessica needed to do was answer a few of Dr. Shield's study questions, collect her incentive, and move on with her life. BUT what she did not ask for was what would happen once the study was over.

It’s a great mystery/thriller that focuses on morals and ethics.

This is the first book I’ve read from both authors. I have not gotten a chance to read their first book, so I have nothing to compare it to.

I thought that the characters were well-rounded and well-thought out. I thought that both Jessica and Dr. Shields were believable, especially towards the end of the book. Dr. Shields could come off a bit two dimensional at first but as I continued to read, she became more and more three dimensional.

The perspectives change when reading one chapter to the next. If you’re like me, reading one chapter to the next with the change in character perspective, it can lead me to not finish the book. However, the authors wrote this in a way where it was readable. So it did take me some time to read the book. I am grateful that the timeline does not jump around. BUT it does stay between the two female characters.

The overall story was beautifully well-written and it definitely had enough twists and turns in the story to keep me motivated to read it from start to finish. I thought it was engaging in the sense where it did make me think of what I would do in Jessica’s shoes.

This is a thought-provoking book that will make you question your own morals and ethics, with a twist of mystery and a thriller. It’s definitely a page-turner and worth the time to read. I highly recommend reading this with no interruptions. Carve out time to read this. Find a spot where you won’t be interrupted.
