I had better hopes for this. It started off strong with a lot of suspense and I liked the city life to small town transition for Claire and Noah. I also really felt like Noah was definitely justified in his actions however bad they were.

I 100% shipped Claire and Lincoln! I’m really happy the book ended when they were in good terms again and I hope that in their universe Amelia and Noah got their happy ending too seeing as she’s free of her family.

I was quite disappointed in the ending. I know this is a medical thriller so I was expecting some medical explanation for the murders and why they happen every 100 years or so but the final decision that it’s some random bacteria that a secret pharmaceutical giant is investigating is a little underwhelming.

I liked the book and I adore Tess’s writing but this book took me so so long to read (months) and I most likely won’t be reading this again. I do recommend if you like medical thrillers though - it’ll definitely get you thinking at times and the attacks of aggression are interesting to read about.

Another good thriller by Gerritson, while not as good as Gravity it still manages to keep you gripping it with white knuckles.

From medicine side book is quite good despite the presents of mystery in the beginning. It shows how hard relations between parents and children can be.

READ IN DUTCH

This is one Tess Gerritsen earlier work, not part of her Rizzoli and Isles series.

A lot happens in this book, but it wasn't very easy for me to connect to the story. I wanted to really like this book (as I know a lot of Tess Gerritsen fans), and I thought it started of great, with a high level of creepiness.

But then, the story lost me a bit. There's something going on, indeed, and every five pages, there's another explanation for it. I understand that you want to distract the reader and keep him/her guessing on what exactly happens next, but if you spell literally every option out for me, I tend to get a bit annoyed.

It was however an enjoyable read.

My first Gerritsen, kept me interested and read it in 24 hours, after that I was hooked!

Another review mentioned this book read like an episode of the X-files and I think it's a good comparison. I didn't like it as much as Tess Gerritsen's others, simply because I'm not a fan of sci-fi stuff (not that this was a sci-fi novel, but there were some similarities). I prefer the Gerritsen books that are more like an episode of ER with some mystery thrown in.

The opening of this book was absolutely amazing! Super suspenseful, wanting to know more. However, the rest of the book did not hold up to the prologue. It wasn't bad, just not as suspenseful and just really didn't do a whole lot for me.

Read this for free on bookshout. Bookshout is app that seems to me designed for publishers to directly connect with readers. It also has a social networking aspect. So one to half an extra star as reading using bookshout on the ipad was easy and I like free things. Got another free book as well for signing up. However, the terms and conditions mean user data is not private or as private as espoused by other apps. This is really 3 1/2 stars in terms of story quality - light medical mystery that moves along at a quick pace.

I always forget how much I love Tess's writing until I pick up one of her books, she is seriously amazing! I loved the story so much and I totally wasn't excepting that ending.
