First off I totally didn’t realize this was a third book in the series until I came to Goodreads to review it but honestly, I didn’t read like a series book and I think it could definitely be read as a standalone. I would say, though, if I read the other two, that might help to understand the characters a little better.
overall, though I thought this was adorable book, I really like the characters, and I like that it was kind of a grumpy x grumpy trope. There were definitely parts that both characters annoyed me and I wouldn’t say they were like particularly my favorite book couple ever but I did like them, and I thought they were a good fit for each other.
Both of them had a very hard exterior, and seemed like they only care about themselves until you dug a little deeper, which I really enjoyed. I have Duke, Actually on my tbr for December, so I’m gonna read that one and I feel like it’ll be the same lighthearted, fluffy feel.
Listening to this on audiobook was also really cool too because the narrators have different accents which really helped immerse you in the world. This book also helped me get out of my reading slump, so I am very grateful.
Overall I enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it as a Christmas romance!
Also the main characters mom had RA that was mentioned in referred to a couple times, definitely wasn’t prevalent part of the story at all but cool representation to see!

This story was honestly a little boring. I wasn’t particularly attached to either MC which I think was part of why I struggled to get into the story. I like the general IDEA of the story, and that the MCs were kind of hit over the head with their feelings for one another, but I just couldn’t get into the story.

I did enjoy the author’s description of the fictional kingdom of Eldovia. The location was developed and described in such a lovely and thorough way that it made me want to visit!

I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager. All opinions are my own.

Third book in the series. It was enjoyable; nice to see Benz as more than just the King’s Equerry and not so stiff/unfeeling. I think this book could have been a little shorter, a bit too much back and forth odd banter, etc. I sometimes had issues with the way Cari & Benz were being connected. Sometimes it felt a little too forced. I truly want to see a book between Imogen & Kai! That’s the relationship to write about next. If you like holiday reads, add this one to your list. Looking forward to Jenny’s next book!

a little bit of a grumpy/grumpy & pride and prejudice retelling that just gets a tad frustrating with the characters refusing to just FOOKING COMMUNICATE with each other. Not my favorite in the series and i think sadly the last one, though i would’ve loved to see where the bartender and carpenter’s story would go. overall, a nice read with some christmas spirit that i think paid off okay for the time i put into it.

I didn’t love Princess, Duke was so fun and delightful, and this one was fairly boring. It might have been the narrator and her voice for the MMC made me cringe. Ultimately, I didn’t care for it enough to want to keep going.
Matteo is featured in the other two and his story was one I was interested in. I think the fun holiday romance that could have been got lost in their workaholic mentalities. It was a business room meeting instead of a wintery escape to a small European kingdom.
Thank you to Harper Audio for the alc. Ally thoughts in this review are my own.
