Cute and good and fun, I would recommend!! The plotline with the app was so interesting, and the book touched on issues of classism and racism. The characters did feel a little too... realistic? (not the word I'm looking for, but I can't find a better one so we'll work with it๐
) I can't really explain this but they reminded me more of actual teenagers than fictional characters, and personally I prefer fictional characters. But yeah overall it was a good time and I enjoyed it a lot.

I am loving Jennifer Yen's retellings. They always feel like they add something a bit extra to the experience in this story's case, a bit of STEM magic.
I received an ecopy of this book via Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.

Thank you kindly to Penguin Publishing Group for providing me with an eARC to read and review
I was so excited to read this book, but I'm sad to say that it did not live up to my expectations. I thought it was a rom-com, but the romance aspect was severely lacking.
Love, Decoded was a coming-of-age story, that followed Gigi an upper-class student that strives on being the best student. It's an innovative retelling of Emma by Jane Austen, yet with less character growth by the end of the novel.
I'm not going to lie; I was little bored reading it, even though it had so much going on! It had so many relationships, the matchmaking, the competition; I honestly couldn't keep up at times. I do wish that by the end of the book, we had more closure, I had so many questions left unanswered. *sad*
Love, Decoded was supposed to be a friends-to-lovers romance, which made me super excited about it, but Kyle was barely in the book.
If you are looking for a light coming of age story, with a touch of romance that deals with some important issues Love, Decoded is the one for you!

I really enjoyed the Dedication at the beginning, the book itself, and the Acknowledgements/Author's note at the end.

Super slow burn romance with too many characters and a storyline that drags throughout.

A fun Emma retelling that sticks surprisingly close to the original story, only with a contemporary setting (and a bit less romance). I actually wished I'd remembered that it was a retelling while I was reading--I saw it in the blurb after I'd already finished the book--because I think it would have helped me be more invested in the characters if I'd been making those comparisons while I read it. The book really picks up in the last 25% when everything starts to go terribly wrong (and then the pieces have to be put back together again). By then, I was furiously flipping the pages.
