As a fierce man-hating lesbian, I go into any and all books already counting the flaws of the male characters to see if they are worth the time the author spends curating them. In The Raven King, my count came back astronomically high. Every single man- NO, every single character (save Renee) has their flaws and their issues but none of them more prevalent than fucking Riko Moriyama. The storyline for this book carried out beautifully and I loved watching the transitions between characters as they grew closer through Neil’s inevitable force shut down. However, the characters drove me wild and I would ring their necks if they were real people and I didn’t think they would be able to k!ll me. Like my last review, or rant if you will, I recommend this book but please read the trigger warnings first! There is a larger than necessary amount of problematic shit that goes down.

THIS BOOK IS FUCKING INSANE OH MY GOD. WHY IS THIS BOOK REAL. WHY WHY WHY WHAT IS HAPPENING WHY AM I READING A BAD BOOK ABOUT LACROSSE AND THE MAFIA. So so so so so trashy but I can’t stop reading. Very confused as to why this is listed as YA because I had to listen to a rape scene while shelving books in the children’s section of my library - would not reccomend doing that. I am so fucking tired of the narrator’s voice but that’s okay. On to the third one! Can’t wait to see where this shit goes next!
