I really like her Teen Titans series but I wasn't a fan of this. Everything is super rushed. It feels like a 400 page novel crammed into 100 pages

Constantine just wants to play his music and use his magic. And neither is going particularly well. But, hey, he's gonna learn some lessons!

I enjoyed it, but I miss the Hellblazer vibe. Seeing a young Constantine is pretty cool!

Such a fun and lighthearted read! Great for getting to know a little about Constantine, even if you don’t plan on reading more about him. It’s definitely for teenage/young adult readers, with some good lessons to be taken away.

Constantine: Distorted Illusions is a graphic novel full of stunning artwork and will absolutely capture the eyes of readers who love stories surrounding witchcraft in an urban fantasy setting. Following an angsty young adult with magical abilities who moves to live with his punk band best friend, this book has a raw and engaging atmosphere.

However, the artwork and worldbuilding have been paired with a mediocre plot, rushed pacing, and incredibly flat character-building. The plot is predictable and has nothing that will really shock or overly engage readers. While the pacing is expected to be quick in this more visual format, the story lacks in detail and depth. This results in an insincere and rushed romance within a timeframe that seems quicker than it should have been for this type of story. Absolutely pick this up for the artwork - but don't expect a mind-blowing story to go along with it.

The main character gave me major Spike (from Buffy) vibes.
