This book should be re-titled, "Everyone being terrible and making bad decisions all the time."

I'm a huge fan of the werewolf subplot, but holy cow this book has issues. While I could laugh off everyone's unexplained attraction to Bella, the human mop, in Book 1, Book 2's problems were downright alarming. Even in the mid-2000s when YA wasn't taken seriously yet, I'm amazed this ever got the green light from publishers for a teenage audience. As someone in her twenties, the only character's well-being I cared about was Charlie's. The End. (Not really. Book 3 was my favorite so I'm excited to give that a re-read next.)

I'm sure that there is no need to do a summary of this book. I'm probably one of the last people on Earth that has finally gotten around to reading this...to put it nicely, trash. Now don't get me wrong. I don't mind romance novels when they are done well. This series was not done well. It was tough to get through. There was more of the whole "Edward is perfect" and "Edward is so pretty" crap on top of Bella becoming a mess when he leaves and she becomes utterly useless. So much whining happens in this book and I can't stand it.
I still feel like if those parts were limited to a couple of chapters and more action happened it would have been fine. But now I feel like the publishers could have saved some money by doing those edits and combining Twilight and New Moon into one book. There is no need for these books to be a four-book series. Needless to say, I will not be finishing this series. I will also be donating my books to my local library and getting them out of my house as soon as possible. I must have more room for better books on my shelves.
