With Daisy’s male POV flair, ANYTHING BUT LOVE is an enjoyable love story with the perfect amount of comedy mixed in. Her reads are always light, fun, and with the right amount of romance to spice it up. Our hero, Erik, is single and truly wants to keep it that way. He has a dry, sarcastic nature to him that leads to the novel being very cheeky and lively. What happens in Cabo certainly doesn’t stay there, and follows him all the way back to Whidbey Island. A guy who likes to live in peace, brewing coffee, certainly becomes quite popular with the women folk. And that’s where Cari comes in. Which in turn brings in the I-hate-you-but-I-find-you-very-attractive portion of the novel. I loved their banter, their back and forths, and the general passion flowing between them (lust and hate). Cari is a very strong-minded female character and she really complements Erik.
ANYTHING BUT LOVE is a great beach read. It has very little angst and a lot of fun. While the story started off slow and the general lead-up to the relationship took longer than I would have liked, it was still very fun. I loved the dynamic between Erik and every person in his life; how he was very centered but had a lightness to him. And I loved the way Cari affected him. It’s the type of story that anyone will enjoy.

We’ve all dreamed about being famous at some point in our lives right? Erik Kelso did too, but he wanted to be famous for his beans…his coffee beans. But because of a mishap on a trip to Cabo he’s become famous for something else. What? You’ll have to read the book to find out. Caribou is partially responsible for his new fame but she didn’t stay a part of his vacation. She followed him home.
This book is probably one of the funniest I’ve read all year. My cheeks were hurting from grinning and giggling so much. I think we’ve all known an Erik Kelso before. You know the cocky good looking guy that’s amazing to be friends with because watching him in action is hilarious but you’d never date him? That’s Erik. Caribou is his feisty other half who wants nothing to do with him at first. She doesn’t fall for his charm and the banter between them is fabulous.
And the shenanigans, oh my, the shenanigans. There are shenanigans from Erik, shenanigans from social media, shenanigans from cougar women, just shenanigans everywhere and they are fun! The supporting characters in the novel were amazing. They help immerse you within the book making you feel as though you’re on the island with everyone.
It isn’t all fun and games though. It does hit some deep stuff, like an alcoholic father and how fifteen minutes of fame isn’t all fun and games. I can’t wait to read the next installment of the Wingman series; I’m hoping its Dan. He seems to have a story just waiting to be told.

Great book to start the year! It was a funny and light read. I love Daisy's writing and can always feel like I'm friends with those characters. If you like rom-com, I really recommend her books.

Such a fun read and perfect for summer! The characters were well rounded and relatable. I loved the humor throughout the book between characters and especially the banter between Erik and Cari. Erik himself had me cracking up with his humor and how he handled certain situations. If you are looking for a book full of just the right mixture of humor and attraction, this is the book for you!

What makes a book a winning read for me? Laugh-out-loud moments, snark and wit, characters that I can see wanting to spend time with, and a story line that doesn't quit. I can say, without a doubt, that Daisy Prescott delivers on every single one of these things with ANYTHING BUT LOVE, the latest book in her Wingmen series.
Daisy has done an excellent job of capturing the current state of instant fame, where hashtags rule and Snapchat can be your friend...or not. The characters in ANYTHING BUT LOVE are typical, everyday kind of folks, living life in the 21st century. Regardless of age or gender, everyone is swept up in the furor that erupts when Erik's fanny becomes the most sought-after unicorn of the moment. I spent a good amount of my time literally laughing out loud at the situations that Erik found himself in as a result of his momentary lack of judgment. That it takes place amidst the small-town atmosphere of Whidbey Island, Washington, with all of the usual suspects from Daisy's prior books, makes it an even more heartwarming and entertaining read.
I really appreciate that, between crazy chase scenes and some uber-steamy moments, Daisy takes the time to remind us that even characters in books have to deal with the same issues that we do. Family secrets, money problems, poor health, unrequited love, these are part of everyday life for everybody, and seeing that Erik, Cari, and the rest of the crew have to deal with them just made me appreciate this book, and Daisy's writing, even more. ANYTHING BUT LOVE is an easy 4.5-star read for me, and I can't wait for the next book in the Wingmen series. Add Erik and his story to your TBR, because it is one that you do not want to miss.

The Wingmen series is a group of interconnected romantic comedies that can each be read as standalones. I know the summary describes this as an enemies to lovers story, but man oh man is that ever right. As soon as you start Anything But Love you immediately can feel how much dislike Cari feels for Erik. After the first scene, I wrote her off. I thought there was no way she was going to be the romantic interest because I could feel genuine hate searing from her eyeballs. But let me just tell you, that made the rest of the book all the more fun. Once I realized that she was Cari, I knew their story was going to be a good one. And it was. Anything But Love is the first book I have read from the Wingmen series and if they are all as funny, and hot, and fantastic as this one, then what the heck have I been doing with my life?? I need to be reading all of Daisy's books!
Anything But Love is the story of Erik and Cari. I didn't know Erik from the previous stories, so I don't know just how much of a player or wingman he was previously, but Anything But Love is one giant rollercoaster of events and emotions for him. The poor guy does not catch a break- his life gets jumbled up in one thing after another. And it certainly does not stay in Mexico like he wants it to. I love a book that can integrate our world of social media well, and social media plays a big part in this story. The scary thing is, it is so realistic. I could see what happened to Erik, happening to guys and girls all over the place. Watching Cari and Erik try and deal with the fallout of everything was half the fun for me. I am a new (newly huge) fan of Daisy's. I just love her writing. She writes fantastically delicious tension, and her humor is spot on. And I know this has nothing to do with the story, but I also love that her bio says she lives in a real life Stars Hollow. I want to visit!
Bottom line: Anything But Love is a solidly great book. The writing is top notch, the characters are relatable, and likeable. And the story line will have you laughing. I could see the Wingmen books being made into movies- or at least Anything But Love. It would make a great romantic comedy. Check this one out if you like romantic comedies, and books like Penny Reid.

I just couldn't resist another Wingmen novel and Daisy Prescott had me laughing out loud right from the beginning.
When an impulsive act of fun during a holiday with his brother Carter follows them home to the locally nicknamed 'Phallus Palace', it triggers a chain of events that change Erik's life. He becomes an overnight internet sensation when a photo of his butt appears on Instagram, taken during his skinny dip dive in Mexico. The photo is traced back to the only woman who caught his eye during the fateful holiday. The purple-tipped hellcat…!
Photographer, 'Cari' Caribou Caldwell meets Erik Kelso in a nightclub in Cabo, Her jealous 'fiancé' misinterprets their dancing together, so he and Erik end up exchanging blows. The result leads to them both having to bribe local police officers when their fight ends up in the street. Cari doesn't expect to see than man who broke her boyfriend Damien's nose again, but a few clicks of her camera plus a deceitful act leads her to the man she couldn't resist photographing.
Playful banter between Erik and Cari is hilarious as insults and sarcastic responses bounce between the two of them. They give in to their lustful attraction for each other, but then something will trigger a seed of doubt, sending them both in the opposite direction. They prefer to hide, rather than share personal information, believing it's the right thing to do...until they realise they can't live without each other.
The dialogue in this novel is highly entertaining, and it's not just restricted to the protagonists. Verbal ping-pong with hilarious and witty retort bounces off most pages. I love Daisy Prescott's writing as much as I adore the Whidbey Island setting. It's fun catching up on the antics of other residents who have appeared in previous books too.
Anything But Love is a standalone novel. I recommend reading about Tom 'Tom Cat' Donnely and John Day in their novels too. All are perfect Summer escapism.
