Very cute, short story that my female students loved.

Unlike the original Fancy Nancy book and the Fancy Nancy easy readers, this book doesn't provide new vocabulary (or "fancy" vocabulary) that I've come to appreciate in her books. This one is a pass unless your child wants it just for the stickers.

I do love Fancy Nancy’s hair. She can fancy it up. This is her Valentines story and you can imagine that she likes it very fancy with lots of glitter. She is making her cards and she knows some good works too. This is her holiday as it’s always so fancy with plenty of hearts.

I was able to talk my niece into reading this story and she did. She ended up enjoying this somewhat and it made her smile in places. A day ago she wore a skirt again, which was good to see, so she remembers the fancy she used to be at least. She gave this 3 stars. I didn’t read it to the nephew. I have a valentines book with monsters for him.

Fancy Nancy is fun, but his is a poor bid to sell more books, it does no have the true flavor of the originals.
