I enjoyed the theme of the book, but wish they hadn't used stereotypes in the illustrations. I understand they were going for a nostalgic old-fashioned book feeling. I especially wish one of the characters wasn't using a Native American puppet.

Cute! Love the illustrations! Might be a bit long/complex for story time, but could work for an older group.

Oh, this book grabbed my heart! I loved the message and I love how Tara Lazar presents it in this book. And look at the cover - how can you resist Norman?

A super fun book about what it means to be "normal." I really liked the format of a narrator, and I like that she is a young girl. Not only is this a great book for discussion with young students about being true to yourself, it can also be used at older elementary grades to discuss the author's voice.

Loved what it was trying to do, and what was the moral of the story, but I think it had too many words, and was too long. Great message, but I didn't love how it got there.
