This was great. I am liking season 10 a lot more than 9!

I’m enjoying this so much more than season 8 and 9, which I think can be credited to the Angel & Faith season 9 writers who have come over to Buffy.

I’m really glad we didn’t get Tara back. As much as I loved her and Willow (albeit their relationship was toxic when we last saw them) it’s been years, and it would just be too much. There’s only so many people you can bring back and I’m glad that the team at Buffy knows where to push it and when to stop. I really did feel for Andrew though. It was easy to forget the kind of guilt he’s carrying around, so I liked that the team brought it back around. Although the ending.. come on Andrew! I did laugh though.

I loved seeing Dracula again and his humour. Also thought it was hilarious to see what he truly looked like.

The siren plot was also hilarious. The pillow fight scene was phenomenal.

Buffy listening to Spike talk about how he thinks he’s finally on his way to being over her broke my heart a little. But it’s also fair enough. She didn’t say anything to him the last time they talked about his feelings to her. As much as I love a “will they/won’t they” I have a feeling this situation is going to be frustrating to watch play out.

I hate googling things, but I did have to google the appearance of Dylan and I’m a little disappointed that her and Spikes past comes from a spin off comic. I haven’t read into the light and I’m really getting into season 10 of Buffy and Angel & Faith so don’t want to switch to something else. I didn’t read what happened with them, just wanted to know her origin and why I didn’t recognise her. Hopefully when we see her again we get more context, so we don’t have to read into the light. I probably will at some point though.

All in all I’m really enjoying this a lot more than past seasons, and you can probably tell because I’ve never had so much to write in a Buffy comic review.

Honestly some of the best Buffy's been since it moved to comics. Season Nine was an improvement, but Ten is fully back to what Buffy did best: focus on characters and humor. The big bads are just the vehicle from one character beat to the next. (Also much better art with Rebekah Isaacs taking over - I like Georges, but the characters didn't look close enough to the actors for my tastes)
