this was not for me, at all.

the writing style dragged for me, the not even 200 pages felt like 2000 pages.

i actually hated everything about the characters and how this story was told?

i can’t even point out details, it just didn’t work as an entire story for me.

i disliked Vathek and how he was characterized from the first page so that wasn’t a great start but i thought that  it could still work overall.
i don’t necessary need likes me characters to enjoy or even love a book.

and i know it’s a classic, it’s stated in the book was published in 1786.
so okay, racism and classism as well as just general sexism is sadly expected from most books from those time eras.

but this book was a mess of all the issues i really dislike individually in books let alone piled up one on top of the next as it is here.

again i know this is not helpful what i am saying here. sorry.

if anyone else ever finished a book and just completely disliked the emote thing from first page to the last? that’s all i can think about for this book.
