Sometimes you wonder how Gabaldon is going to keep this storyline fresh and interesting, but she did it! Jamie and Roger get into heaps of trouble in this book, and Claire, as usual, is the master herb gatherer and healer. We have a few Indian encounters in this book as well, and a few reunions. Good stuff, and can't wait for the next one.

This is the one book of the series that I find slow moving to begin with but by about page 450 it picks up the pace and once again I'm hooked.

Its the little details in this book that appeal to me, Claire's attempts at medical advances, the day to day living, the food they eat but mostly the relationships between Claire and Jamie and Roger and Brianna.

This was not my favorite in the series. I felt it took too long to get to the point, and the first half of the book was really hard for me to get through. Once she started really getting into the story, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and couldn't put it down!

Was a great look at everyday life in the late 1700's. Parts did drake but the there were others that had you hooked and needing to if doubt what happened next.

It almost hurts me to give a book in this series 3 stars but I also couldn't make myself give it anymore no matter how much I've loved the books up until this point.

First let me say that I do not have a problem with long books. Actually, I LOVE them!! That just means more story to love! But this book is 979 pages and for the first 600 pages... NOTHING WAS HAPPENING!! And I get it... In real life there isn't constantly exciting things happening but when writing a story there needs to be a plot!!!

But the last few hundred pages were great and sucked me in and honestly felt a little rushed. Hopefully Diana has learned from this book.

I'm still obsessed with this series and look forward to the next one!

I am a huge Outlander fan, but was working my way through this book slightly thinking, “Get to the point...” Lots of what felt like filler side stories that really didn’t hold much significance to the main plot, plus a lot of proper medical terminology that seemed a little excessive. However, I love these characters and this setting and these books and will always appreciate them!

This is my least favourite book in the series so far. I found it dragged on and on. I think it should have been shorter.
