Some essays I found more interesting than others, and some essays I found very dense, but on the whole it made me think harder about our world and our literature, and what has and hasn't changed since these essays were written.

I think this is a collection worth revisiting every year or every few years. I thoroughly enjoyed Le Guin’s observations and criticisms of writing, feminism and other topics. Despite there being a lot of essays and speeches in here, I didn’t think there was much repetition. The reviews were my least favorite section, though there are some authors and titles I may read at another time.
