This was a really cute adaptation of such a classic children’s series. Absolutely perfect for younger age elementary students. The artwork and layout was simple and clean and easy to follow. So cute.

NOSTALGIC!
Brung back memories, read it in one seating. The same way I did as a kid.

When I was a wee-child, I devoured all of the Bailey School Kids books. Only recently did I recall their fun titles, on the drive to work one morning. Dadey and Jones are excellent examples of young reader, or early chapter books paranormal fiction. I picked this book up again recently because I got the idea that I might want to take a crack at writing a book for this demographic, and who better to learn from. Dadey and Jones have written more than 80 books in the series.
Honestly as a reader I wanted more out of it, but like I'm also a grown adult not a 3rd grader. I think the story naturally reflects the fears kids have about getting a new teacher. Hopefully this isn't promoting xenophobia with the traditional vampire troupes of Mrs. Jeepers being from Romania. I really don't like that two of the kids break into Mrs. Jeepers house. Please real children do not break and enter.
If anything, I now have the perfect character idea for Halloween this year!

This book is so awesome I swear it was written for me! How have I not read these books before?? Somehow I missed the Bailey School Kids series growing up :(

So far this series reminds me a lot of Louis Sachar's Wayside School series (which is equally awesome!). Can't wait to check out more Bailey School Kids books!!
