This book was beautiful. It was real.
Dwight Thompson immersed readers into Chaunecy's life, bringing them into Jamiaca with a realistic, raw, honest and unapologetic depiction if Montego Bay.
The things we all just close our eyes too, pretend it's not their untill we forget it exists is what 'Death Reagister' peels our eyelids back and lays open bare in front of us. This is a book that forces us to acknowledge the truth of our lives, our friends lives, communities, neighbiurinf countries etc.
As a Caribbean native, and half Jamaican, this book was more than just a revelation. It was a cry to look into the things we fail to address and still are failing to address.
I see this book as a Eulogy and i don't think I will be forgetting Tristan's name anytime soon.
