The perfect book to pass a rainy afternoon - a heartwarming (and occasionally tear inducing) read with stunning illustrations!

This was a wonderful children’s book which contained a story within a story. The initial story tells of a young reporter sent to Mr Henry Friston’s house to see if his tortoise, Ali Pasha, had woken from hibernation. This leads to Henry’s WW1 story and how he met his tortoise friend, Ali Pasha. The end of the book has a note from the author sharing how he met Henry and Ali and more details about the pair, including photos. I love when books include these details.
