This was my first time reading this book, and I loved it! I've been thoroughly enjoying the series, and this book delivered to my expectations. Tom Ward is starting to grow into his future role as a spook, and it was gratifying as a reader to see that start to take place.

The Spook, Alice and other wonderful characters that Delaney has created for this series are again prominently featured-and they have the flawed, dark, grit that I enjoy so much in this series. These books are messy-both with the characters and the plot, but never with the writing.

I highly recommend this book, but I encourage readers to start at the beginning, or at least with a previous book-context could be missing if you start here, and I think your perception of the quality of this book would be affected.

Things are heating up as the Wardstone Chronicles come to a conclusion. The Spook's Blood is possibly the darkest and scariest book in the series.

Book 10 of the last apprentice
This book didn’t hold my attention very well. I just felt that this one dragged a little bit and that
the spooks “death”
was melodramatic and unnecessary. It just didn’t pull on my heartstrings the way some of the other books have. Also I’m grumpy about
the impending sacrifice of Alice

Throughly enjoyed this story. I loved the focus being on vampires and enjoyed learning the lore of vampires in the world of the Spooks series.

My heart was in my mouth half way through and I must admit, I had the most intense work out (listened to this at the gym) as my heart rose up and up and tensions in the story sored.

I loved how Alice started to separate from Tom and became her own person. It was refreshing to see that should disagree with Tom and take action against his ways, whilst still caring for him and doing everything with the best intentions.
