Isma was the only good character, hated everyone else.

Amazing and complex story, told so well! I love the way events are not explained but rather their aftermath is described or what leads up to them; that seemed so realistic to me, some things happen as a flash of a blur and all that is clear is what it felt like before or after. Such a good book!

Had it not been the kindle version, I would have hurled this book across the room.

I found this retelling of "Antigone", set amid British Muslims in London and Syria, very haunting. this novel illustrates, with devastating consequences, that everyone wants to feel that they matter to someone or something.
